Prep Hoops Idaho Interview: Boise High’s Paul Pennington
Our next installment of the Prep Hoops Idaho Interview series is with arguably the top guard of the 2018 class in the Gem State. Boise High’s Paul Pennington really turned heads last season as he led the 5A SIC conference in scoring with 19.4 points per game. Pennington also finished the season with 4.3 assists and an impressive 2.9 steals per game. Pennington currently sits as our top ranked 2018 player heading into the season, and after helping his school to a state tournament birth for first time since 1997, expect even larger things on the horizon from this young gun.

What is your favorite opposing gym to play in?
“Timberline.”
Who is the best player you have played against?
“Regionally the toughest players I have gone head to head with would have to be Matur Maker and Maker Maker. Locally, I thought battling with Jaxon Edelmayer was fun.”
What was your basketball related highlight this summer?
“Winning the Seattle AAU tournament and having the opportunity to play in front of Mark Few.”
Who is your favorite player to play against?
“Max Rice. One of us always tends to hit a game winner.”
Which is your favorite social media?
Twitter and Instagram.
What has been your favorite part of the recruiting process?
Learning about different academic institutions and different basketball programs.
What has been your least favorite part of the recruiting process?
“The pressure of having the right game at the right time. You never know who’s watching.”
High School or Grassroots Circuit?
“High School, it’s fun to play in front of my peers and playing along side some of my best pals.”
Who is your favorite NBA Player?
“Steph Curry.”
What are your personal goals for the upcoming season?
“Take my team as far as I can. Leave a legacy at Boise High. Go Braves!”
