Pre-Season Outlook – player notes
Let’s take a look at a couple of players who set to breakout this season. These guys have been working hard this off season and they will be ready for tipoff.
Rashekem “Fresh” Ausar is a 5’10 point guard from Cleveland High School located in Seattle, Washington.
Fresh Ausar brings a breath of fresh air to point guard position. Standing at 5’10, Fresh is a powerful guard with incredible speed in transition. Once he blows by his defender help is most likely to slow to react. He is very crafty at creating space, which helps him at his height get his jump shot off with good balance and high release. As a Junior last year Fresh had some really big games and tallied season averages of 17ppg, 5apg and 3rpg a game earning him a spot on the all-conference honorable mention list, winning team MVP voted on by my coaches and teammates and leading his team to the district tournament in a very difficult conference.
2020 Shahid Abdul-Mumin is ready for a breakout season. At 6’7 the sophomore post player is very lanky, protecting the paint with blocked shots and using his length to make shots difficult. He is a great defensive presence with the ability to rebound at a high level.
Lemuel Armstrong also know as “LJ”, is ready to make his case as the top freshman in the state. The 6’6 forward has been working on his skills all off season, putting in major work. Armstrong is more of a slasher, with the ability to catch and shoot the open 3. He rebounds at a high level with his length and athletic ability. He has a good feel for the post as well.
Juanita guard Ryan Trautmann is a two sport athlete, who can really ball. After not playing AAU this summer, Trautmann decided to put more focus in baseball. “I did not play AAU this past summer because I also play baseball and I had to invest a lot of time into that. Both baseball and basketball are both important to me and I look forward to continuing putting in the work and getting results” said Trautmann.
St. George’s star guard Erik Farias is a hidden gem coming out of Eastern Washington. Farias is a pure shooter, leading his team as the starting point guard. He is scoring pretty easy this season, creating off the dribble for easy buckets for his teammates. He’s averaging 20.6 points per game, scoring a season high 33 points earlier this season.
