Palmetto State : Grand Strand Area
Tonight starts all the basketball action in full swing in the Palmetto State. Football is finally out of the way with the State Championships coming up this weekend in Columbia. Lets get the hoops rolling and tonight down on the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach) there is a solid list of games.
North Myrtle Beach at Carolina Forest HS
The Chiefs will head over to the Black Hole to play the new look Panthers. The Panthers have some young talent in Jaylen Campbell-McClurkin and Kyle Watkins. The Chiefs will counter with the Cason McClendon and Tyron Stockdale.
Socastee HS at Myrtle Beach HS
Great rivalry game to start the season. The Braves have plenty of talent with Andrew Gardner, Kendrell Generette, Marcus Hemingway and Kassius “Jay” Williams. The Seahawks coached by Craig Martin will counter with the back court of Robert Swanson and Emorie Knox.
Aynor HS at St James HS
The Sharks open the season at home. Look for Jordan Furlough and Payton Lewis to lead the squad this season.
Latta HS at Loris HS
Travis Walters and his Loris Lions teammate will be waiting for the Latta Vikings to come a knocking tonight in Loris.
Georgetown at Carvers Bay HS
The Bulldogs have 3 games under there belt already. The Bulldogs currently 1-2 on the season are led by Darius McGirt. The Bears will play there home opener after starting the season late with the football team making a deep playoff run. Should be a good county rivalry game tonight out in the Choppee Community. Dijon Goss, Janaz Sumpter and Stephon Green look to lead the Bears.
Andrews at Waccamaw HS
Andrews is currently 2-1 on the season after playing in the Bulldog Shootout. Shamar Matthews and Amahn Anderson look to lead the Yellow Jackets. Carrele Cooper is a sophomore on the Yellow Jackets squad. The Warriors are led by the guard tandem of Connor Heimberger and Ty’shaun Richardson.
West Columbus (NC) at Green Sea Floyds
Jake Brownlee a Lees Mcrae (NC) signee will bring the Vikings into the Palmetto State this evening. The Trojans will counter offer with Shaquille Johnson.
