Palmetto State : All-Florence Team
The season is fast approaching here in the Palmetto State. Games and action start this coming week and Prep Hoops SC is going to do a segment of All-City team articles though out the state.
The 5 schools in Florence will be Florence Christian, King’s Academy, South Florence HS, West Florence HS and Wilson HS. Prep Hoops SC will take just 6 players on these teams.
Alex Caldwell (2018) – Wilson HS (Preseason Player of the Year in the City of Florence)
Caldwell would be our Preseason Player of the Year here for the Tigers. Caldwell recently signed with Southeast Missouri State University for next season. Caldwell a point guard averaged 14 ppg and 7 assists last season in leading the Tigers to a 22-1 season and a berth in the Lower State Championship.
Caldwell a shifty guard can score the ball when needed played AAU with Upward Stars Southeast 2018.
Jamontay Williams (2018) – Wilson HS (Breakout season this year)
Williams made solid strides this off season and look for a breakout season from the forward. Williams has received a few NCAA D2 offers on the way. Williams can play-inside out on the floor. Williams has great length and really defends the passing lanes well.
Juan Perez (2018) – West Florence HS
Perez will look to carry the Knights this season with the departures of Sharone Wright Jr and Travion McCray. Perez 6’6 post player will take his skills down the road to Francis Marion University (NCAA D2) next season.
Tyrek Epps (2018) – King’s Academy (Under-Rated Award)
Epps transferred in here from nearby Lake City HS. Epps still kind of a unknown ran the AAU Circuit with TMP. Epps a point guard should have a big season playing at the SCISA 2-A School. Epps is most under-rated kid on this squad.
Ryan Carfley (2018) – Wilson HS
Carfley 6’9 is at his 3rd school this coming season after playing at Marion HS last season. Carfley picked up a offer from Coker College (SC) (NCAA D2) earlier this fall. Carfley can step-out and knock down some shots. Carfley ran AAU with Garner Road on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit.
Allen Williamson (2019) – Wilson HS
Williamson a left-handed wing can really hit shots on the perimeter. Williamson will add to his numbers this season on this talented Tigers team.
The Wilson HS Tigers have the tools to make another run this season to Columbia. The South Florence HS Bruins lost some players this season and still might be a year away from competing for the playoff
