Conway Christian vs Trinity Byrnes
Conway Christian was a late replacement when Laurence Manning Academy dropped out. Laurence Manning Academy just finished playing football Saturday night in the SCISA 3-A State Championship Game.
Trinity-Byrnes is also fresh off a runner-up finish in the SCISA 2-A State Championship Game on Saturday. The Titans will be led by La’sauhn McFadden, Cameron “CJ” Miles, Mateo Thompson, Terance Mack and Jordan Jones. Jones (2020) was the quarterback on the football team and played last season at South Florence HS.
Hannah-Pamplico HS vs West Florence HS
Kobe Praylow returns for the Red Raiders offense this season. Praylow 5’8 averaged 21.7 ppg last season (2nd in the Pee Dee Area). The Knights have a new look squad with the departure of Sharone Wright Jr and Travion McCray. Juan Perez (Francis Marion signee) will be out of action until December.
Lee Central HS vs Westwood HS
The Stallions are led by longtime Head Coach Laverne Knox. The Stallions are preseason ranked #5 in 2-A. Daequan Thomas (2018) and Amadric Mixon (2018) will lead the way. Freshman sensation DaVeon Thomas should look to contribute right away this season.
Westwood will be led by junior guard Russell Jones. Jones is a fun guard to watch and plays the game right in your face. Good opening round match-up here.
Cheraw HS vs Lamar HS
The Cheraw HS Braves just lost on Friday in the 3rd Round of the football playoffs to Abbeville. It will be interesting to see if the Braves have several of there key members playing this week. Jalen Coit (2020) averaged 24.3 ppg last season.
Marshall Myers (2021) is a name to keep a eye on here for the Braves.
The Silver Foxes are still currently playing this coming week in the Lower State Championship Game. This game could feature a lot of jayvee or younger kids pressed into the action.
