I-Meck 8 Conference Preview
- North Mecklenburg High School-Coach Duane Lewis brings back one of his strongest teams this season. After finishing 24-4 last season, The Vikings return high-major forward Jaelyn Withers, a 6-foot9 forward who has offers from NC State, Kansas State, Clemson, Charlotte, James Madison, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. Tristan Maxwell, a 6-foot-2 2020 guard is the son of former Houston Rocket Vernon Maxwell and has offers from Winthrop and NC State. Vaud Worthy, a 6-foot-1 guard has an offer from Winthrop.
North Meck High School
- Hopewell High School-After finishing 13-12 last season, The Titans returns 2018 guard Zack Dixon who averaged 12.2 points and 2.8 rebounds last season. Also returning for Coach McNeil is 2019 forward Brice Williams, who is being recruited by Charlotte and Lafayette (both offered). Williams scored at a 7.2 point per game clip last season.
- Lake Norman High School-Head Coach Brandon Jolly is back at Lake Norman, this season he brings in transfer Zane Haglan, one of the top shooters that I saw this summer playing with Mooresville Magic. Also on the roster is 6-foot-4 wing Demarcus Johnson, an athletic player that knows how to score it.
- Mooresville High School-Returning this season is 2018 guard Seth Welch and his 12 points per game last season. Also returning this year is Treye Gunning, a 5-foot-10 senior guard that averaged just under 10 points per game for Head Coach Micklow.
- Vance High School-While losing one of the most prolific scorers in Vance history, in Cam Hamilton. Head Coach Brian Frasier will need some scoring. Set to help in that category is 2019 guard Brandon Beidelman. On the senior laden team last season, Beidelman averaged 7 points per game last season and had a strong summer. He is ready to take over the reigns to the program.
- Hough High School-Head Coach Jason Grube returns 6-foot-6 forward Myles Washington and his 10 points per game from last season. Transferring in is 2020 guard Luke Stankavage from Providence Day. Stankavage went down with a knee injury early last season and is expected to have a big sophomore campaign.
- Mallard Creek High School-Returning for first year Head Coach Justin Busby is 5-foot-10 guard Jordan Campbell. He averaged nearly 20 points per game this past season for the 18-8 Mavericks.
