MAC Preview: Under-The-Radar Seniors
We recently released our preview for the Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference. Through and through, this conference is loaded with talent ranging from high-major Division I to quality Division III prospects.
For this series, we’re taking a look at a few seniors we believe continue to be slept on. Their levels of play range accordingly with what was stated in the opening paragraph. Some have started receiving interest from colleges, and some have simply gone under the radar. All of these players can help contribute to a collegiate program somewhere.
ELIJAH BOWENS | MARET
Elijah Bowens returns for Maret as the only player aside from Luka Garza to average double figure scoring numbers last season. The 5-foot-11 point guard, who drilled 47 threes last season, will be a key factor to his team’s success this year.
LUKE DOWNING | MARET
Returning to join Bowens in the back court for the Frogs this year will be Luke Downing, who led the team with 57 made threes last season. The 6-foot-2 off guard, who shot 80 percent from the foul line last year, is a strong candidate to lead Maret in scoring this year as he is much improved with the ball in his hands.
AMIR HARRIS | SAINT JAMES
6-foot-4 guard Amir Harris recently reopened his recruitment, making him the top available player in Maryland. The former Rhode Island commit, who will play out his senior year at Saint James, is a proven scorer who can make plays for others and defend a variety of positions.
SEAN HERLIHY | FLINT HILL
Flint Hill’s captain and leader this season will be Sean Herlihy. The actie 6-foot-7 forward is a blue-collar worker who provides a rugged inside presence for the Huskies. Herlihy is a vocal leader, and a fantastic locker room guy who will be valuable for an up and coming Huskies team.
ISAIAH MOORE | FLINT HILL
Isaiah Moore is often overlooked because of his size, but he often comes up big when his team needs him most. The crafty lead guard, who is highly regarded by Head Coach Rico Reed, will without question be a major part of his team’s success this season.
DIMA ZDOR | SAINT JAMES
Dima Zdor adds size and versatility to a potentially dynamic front court at Saint James. At 6-foot-8, he can stretch the floor, but also provides a presence on the glass. Zdor will likely play a major role from day one this season, and should see his recruitment expand significantly.
