Key Early Season Match-Up
Key Early Season Match-Up
November 14 Spartanburg Day at Christ School-
Justice AjogborThis is a match-up pitting SCISAA state champion Spartanburg Day against one of NC’s top 3–A NCISAA teams, Christ School. This is also a chance to see 2018’s best dunker (Zion Williamson) against 2019’s best dunker (Jalen Lecque). Williamson and Lecque have offers from some of the biggest and perennial powers in the United States.
Williamson’s game consists of high flying dunks that end up being viewed thousands of times on YouTube. Williamson has had UNC, Kentucky, and Kansas in to see him this week. The same can be said for Lecque with many of his dunks also be viewed at a high rate.
Christ School should have the advantage in the size column with Brandon Stone, Justice Ajogbor and Gabe Wentz dominating the paint.
Stone recently picked up offers from Pitt and South Carolina. The 6-foot-10 Stone is a long and athletic post player who runs the floor like a gazelle.
At the guard position, Chandler Lindsey for Spartanburg Day is one of the most athletic guards in the southeast. He is a legitimate scoring threat whenever he gets the ball in his hands. He is a high-flying guard that components the fast paced game that Williamson brings every night.
This will also be a chance to see 2020 big man Justice Ajogbor, 6-foot-9 post player since he has picked up offers from Auburn, Connecticut, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Maryland this fall.
Christ School’s Norance Berry is also a player to watch for The Greenies. He recently picked up an offer from Tennessee, and has had some more High major interest. The Cleveland, Tennessee native is a tough shooting guard/wing that attacks every time he gets the ball. He does a good job of being active on both ends of the floor.
