Archbishop Carroll Lions HS. 4300 Haerewood Street, NE, Washington, DC. 20013 Head Coach : Michael Powell WCAC Conference
Last season the Archbishop Carroll did not win a game & after the season ended the Lions named Mike Powell as the new Head Coach. Coach Powell is an excellent Coach & mentor who is well known in the DC DMV. He was an All Met player @ Annacostia HS & the top Assistant at Sidwell Friends. He helped build Sidwell into a DMV power in the MAC Conference with Head Coach Eric Singletary. Coach Powell is changing the culture at Carroll into a competitive & winning atmosphere with his excellent new staff. We believe he will bring the Lions back to prominence & they will be competitive this season. The Lions retain some young & talented players which include, 6’10” sophomore Tegra Izzay, 5’11” PG Jamal Muhammad, his twin brother 5’11” Jabril Muhammad, & 2021 6’4″ Wing Aminu Mohammed (pictured right)who is one of the best freshmen in the nation.

Last season the Quakers recorded a 23-6 record & won the very tough MAC Conference over an excellent Maret Team featuring 6’10” Iowa commit Luka Garza. Sidwell graduated 6’6″ Ross Young to Mt. St. Marys, but return 6’7″ 2018 Wing Saddiq Bey (pictured right) caught fire & grew 3 inches to 6’7″. Saddiq is ranked @ #69 nationally by Prep Hoops & has committed to NC State. Other key & starting Quakers will: 6’0″ foot sniper Jason Gibson ranked #31 for 2019, 6’6″ junior F/C Walter Rouse ranked @ #53 in our 2019 DC/ MD rankings, & up & coming 6’4″ junior G Elijah Williams ranked# 62.
