Intro: Romelle Howard (2020)
The Pangos event was Lincoln Park 2020 power forward Romelle Howard’s coming out party this fall. He wasn’t on our radar at all heading into the event and was one of the more impressive rebounders from Illinois at the camp. The physical 6’6” power forward snatches rebounds in traffic consistently. He plays with a lot of force and has a high running motor all the time. Runs the floor very well. Offensively he flashes a lefty hook shot on occasion. Most of his points come on put backs. Really like the toughness he brings on the boards and defensively.
He spoke with PrepHoopsIllinois about his game and what he brings to the table.
“Defense, rim protecting, I am good down low in the post, and can hit a three.”
Howard is looking forward to seeing if Lincoln Park’s hard work in the gym is going to pay off on the court.
“We stay in the gym night in and night out. We have been working and it is going to be an interesting season.”
What is his role on the team?
“My role is going to be the garbage man. Getting offensive rebounds and put backs. Scoring down low and being a threat in the low post.”
