Intro: Aaron Tims (2020)
Hinsdale South 2020 Aaron Tims is a combo forward at 6’7” that is a lefty from Hinsdale South. That sound familiar? That is where the 2018 #3 overall prospect Zion Griffin goes and Tims will be his apprentice this season. Tims is pretty thin and will definitely need to add strength going forward, but he does a lot of little things that stand out. Quality rebounder and shot blocking presence defensively. Can put it on the deck occasionally although his handles could get tighter. Upside here!
He broke out at the Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp.
“It was great. I got to play against good competition and show that I am one of the best in the Midwest.”
Tims talked about his game.
“I am real athletic and can finish around the rim. I can rebound and push it and throw outlets.”
How did it go on the travel team circuit?
“I played with Baylor Youth Foundation where we went to Big Foot and got second.”
He is excited for a bigger role this year at Hinsdale South.
“It has been going good. We have a lot of good players. I am going to be starting this season so I have to step up my game.”
Going against one of the state’s best in Zion Griffin every day is making him the best player he can be.
“Just playing him in practice has got me better.”
