Holiday Hoopsgiving Preview Pt. 3
Part 3 here of the loaded Holiday Hoopsgiving Event Preview. Take a look below.
Charlotte Christian, NC vs Pebblebrook, GA – Friday Nov. 24th 2:45pm Gym 2
This matchup does not bring as much buzz around it as all the other top matchups we should expect but if you are looking for under the radar guys, this one will be the one to tune into. The Pebblebrook Falcons feature one of the top under the radar guys in the country in 2018 6’1 CG DJ Murray. Murray is averaging 25.5 points per game so far this season and will be going up against 2018 PG Terrelle Brown of Charolotte Christian. 2018 WG and Canisius commit Mervin James is another one of those under the radar but elite talent guys that we are expecting to show out in this game. 2018 F and Liberty commit Blake Preston of Charolotte Christian is one of the team leaders for the Knights. Preston has great hands and great touch around the basket and has really improved his game per his coach.
Wheeler, GA vs Buford, GA – Saturday Nov. 25th 4:30pm Gym 1
The Buford Wolves are the defending class 5A champs in the state of Georgia and will be facing one of Georgia’s elite programs in Wheeler High School. Both squads feature a bunch star and elite talent. 2018 C EJ Montgomery for Wheeler are just one of the names we can throw out there. Montgomery is one of the best available big men in the country and is coming off a 33 point and 16 rebound performance. If you have not heard of a kid named Marcus Watson then I would advise you to spectate this matchup here. Marcus is a 6’6 junior SG who will throw it down when driving the lane no matter what. He has great size and can also create his own shot and knock it down. The Buford Wolves are one of the best scoring teams in the state and will be going against one of the best defensive teams in the state.
Norcross, GA vs Wesleyan Christian, NC – Saturday Nov. 25th 8:30pm Gym 1
So this matchup can arguably be the best matchup of the whole event. There is no doubt we should expect a high scoring affair here, with the scoring powers from both teams, it might come down to whoever has the most offensive possessions. With high volume scorers in 2019 CG Kyle Sturdivant of Norcross and 2018 WG Aaron Wiggins of Wesleyan Chrisitan (Maryland commit), do not be surprised if they both end up with thirty or more points. There has been a buzz around Wesleyan Christian that they might have the best starting five in the country in high school basketball. The Trojans will be facing one of Georgia’s top programs in Norcross High School. This matchup will put the lid on the 2017 Holiday Hoopsgiving Event.
