Don’t forget these prospects (2018)
Don’t forget these prospects
Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the top uncommitted players in the 2018 class.
Eric Batson, 6’5, F, 2018, Blue Valley North
Batson put together a strong offseason and showed the kind of diverse skill set that college programs look for in a wing player. He has good size and athleticism, handles the ball well and has good court vision. Can play a point forward type role.
Jett Canfield, 5’11, PG, 2018, Topeka Hayden
Canfield is coming off an injury plagued offseason but is still drawing interest from several college programs. He is a smooth PG who brings leadership, court vision and a good outside shooting stroke to his team.
Koriyon Carr, 5’11, G, 2018, Topeka West
Another Topeka product, Carr is a scoring guard that can get hot and light up a scoreboard. He is a good outside shooter, handles the ball well and gets to the basket.
Hayden Federico, 6’5, F, 2018, Topeka Hayden
An undersized forward, Federico is a tough rebounder and defender who plays bigger than his listed height. He is a terrific finisher around the basket and is a good outside shooter who can stretch the floor and draw defenders out the perimeter. He is likely to draw interest from college programs over the coming months with a strong senior season.
DiCarlo Jackson, 6’1, G, Sumner
Jackson plays bigger than his listed height and scores from all over the court for Sumner. He is a strong ball handler and can create his own shot off the bounce.
Tyon Grant, 6’5, SF, 2018, Schlagle
A long, rangy wing player who can handle the ball, shoot from the outside and get to the basket, Grant also has a lot of tools at the defensive end of the court. He is a versatile player who can defend multiple positions and is a good shot blocker.
Ezekiel Lopes, 6’2, G, 2018, Bishop Miege
One of the state’s most explosive guards, Lopes is tough to contain in the open court, gets to the bucket and makes tough chances look easy. A year ago he was a part of a deep and talented backcourt at Miege, but will be counted on for even more scoring and production this season.
Luke Waters, 6’6, F, 2018, Olathe Northwest
One of the state’s better inside-outside players, Waters led Northwest deep into the playoffs last year where they fell to Blue Valley North at the 6A state championships in Wichita. He is a good outside shooter, but can also take his man to the post making for a difficult match-up for most teams.
