Diamonds in the Desert: Under the radar player’s Jonathan Tendale
Everybody is looking for the next big name player, but sometimes you may have a Diamond that is sitting right at your feet. If you don’t look down you will never know the diamond is there. The same principles apply to the game of basketball. In Las Vegas we have a lot of player’s that fly under the radar. Most people overlook players like this for whatever reason. But quiet as its kept, these are the type of players College Coaches yearn for. Players that have the intangibles to work hard and play at a high-level on a consistent basis.
2018 6’1″ CG Jonathan Tendale of Chaparral High school, who averages 14.1 ppg, 3.5 rpg, and 2.3 apg with 44 steals. Is a very athletic player who plays above the rim. He is a freak athlete that has a motor and leads by example. His team last season finish 21-7 and 10-0 in league play. With the departure of 8 seniors the responsibility will fall on his shoulders, to be the primary go to player. This young man was a 1st Team all-conference player as a junior.
I ask Jonathan, what could he do to improve his skill set? “Doing the AAU Season I worked on my game intensity and work ethic”. Jonathan believes that he has to be a dog on defense! He is working extremely hard to show college coaches that he has the ability to play at the next level.
At 6’1″ this young man has extremely long arms for his size. He moves his feet well and can pick up 94 feet. He is a good looking prospects.
Projection for the next level: This young man skill set is still raw he has some upside. But at this present moment I projected him to be a good Mid-Major player.
