Courtney Ramey to miss 6-8 weeks
Defending Class 5 state champion Webster Groves will be without five-star point guard Courtney Ramey for the next 6-8 weeks.
Ranked the No. 1 player in the Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2018 rankings, 6’4″ Ramey suffered a broken wrist in a fall he took in the Statesmen’s game against Confluence Academy in a preseason Jamboree held at Webster Groves last weekend. If he fully heals, Ramey should be back for the stretch run of the season as the Statesmen attempt to repeat as state champions.
As a junior, Ramey averaged 19.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.1 steals in leading the Statesmen to a 29-2 record and the state championship. A five-star recruit, Ramey had originally give a commitment to Louisville, but has since re-opened his recruitment. He is one of the nation’s most sought after guards with schools such as Villanova and UCLA making recent overtures among many others.
