CONFERENCE PREVIEW: AV-CTL I
CONFERENCE PREVIEW: AV-CTL I
The Arkansas Valley-Chisholm League Division I (AV-CTL I) features a host of talented players and teams capable of contending for state championships.
Derby loses several talented players from a squad that went 17-5 a year ago, including Njjee Wright, Josh Clavin, Trevor Gordon among others, but with the addition of transfers Bryant Mocaby, Jared Mocaby and Tyler Brown, Derby appears to be the favorite on paper entering the 2017-18 season.
Maize will have to replace the production of Grant Bugbee, one of the league’s best players, but appear poised to have another solid season after going 13-9 last season as they return 2019 guard Caleb Grill, Dalyn Johnson and others.
Newton, meanwhile, features one of the state’s premier young players in 2020 guard Ty Berry, who already holds several Division I offers.
