Cobb County (GA) POY Nominees Part 2
2018 PG Nayari Dampier – North Cobb High School
Nayari Dampier will be another one of those senior leaders. Dampier will be coming back with a chip on his shoulder. After being injured most of the season last year and his team only winning three games, Dampier is looking forward to his senior season. He has a great IQ on and off the court about basketball and has Stephen Curry type range behind the arc. Cannot wait to see this kid back on the court again.
2019 SG Isaac Okoro – McEachern High School
Isaac is a freak athlete. Okoro is a nationally ranked player in the nation in the class of 2019 according to ESPN. He has the size and strength to take defenders to the basket and jam it down. Okoro is looking to lead his McEachern Indians team back to the final four or maybe even further.
2018 CG Savvon Delgado – Kell High School
Sayvon is a big peremiter threat. He is one of the best shooters in the county. Delgado will be running the backcourt with Cobb POY Nominee 2018 PG Jahwan Smith. Sayvon can also create his own shot and with his quickness can take defenders to the basket. Kell arguably has the best backcourt in the county.
2018 WG Fionn Brown – Marietta High School
With the departure of 2018 PG Kahlil Hawkins (Pebblebrook), the Blue Devil’s offense is now controlled by senior Fionn Brown. Fionn is a 6’5 wing with long arms and has the peremiter skills of a guard. He is also a real physical athlete who will not think twice to take you to the whole if he senses a mismatch. Brown is expected to have a huge senior season & will make a case that he is a very under the radar wing in Georgia.
2018 WG Khadim Samb – Sprayberry High School
Khadim is also one of those versatile wings who has the length to impact the game. Khadim will be the main focus on the offensive end for the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets this year. Samb recently committed the University of Idaho. Having a great summer with Game Elite, he will be looking forward to do the same for Sprayberry.
2018 WG Kiya Randolph – Campbell High School
Kiya Randolph is looking to lead his Campbell team back to the state playoffs for the third year in a row. With Tyree Crankfield graduating, he and 2019 WG Donovan Grant will be the focal point of this Spartans team. Randolph can finish inside the paint and is not afraid to get physical.
2019 WG Jalyn McCreary – Kennesaw Mountain High School
I believe everyone is ready to see McCreary on the court in a Mustang uniform. Jalyn was not able to play varsity last season after transferring from Wheeler due to GHSA rules. McCreary has a few offers right now and is looking to keep stacking. He is a wing with the size of a big man and is very efficient on the offensive side of the ball. He can score in always on the court and will be mismatch problems for most opponents this season.
