Class 3 Teams to Watch
Here is a look at some of the top Class 3 teams in the state:
Whitfield: The 2017 state runners-up will be held by 6’5″ Mizzou signee Torrence Watson along with 5’9″ 2018 guard Amechi Ramsey and 6’4″ 2019 forward Luther Taylor.
Hogan Prep: Speedy point guard Damien Daniels, an Abilene Christian signee, is back along with 2018 backcourt mate Rashaan Collins. Also look out for 6’6″ 2018 forward Marty Jackson.
Northwest Academy: The defending state champions return 6’7″ 2018 rebounding whiz Jamarr Williams and a pair of excellent 2018 guards in 6’3″ Wilson Warren and 5’9″ Rayonte Childs.
Cardinal Ritter: The Lions return a strong group from their district championship team, led by 5’10” 2019 guard Malek Davis, 5’11” 2018 guard Jared Phillips and 6’5″ 2018 forward Breon Mosby.
Charleston: The Bluejays will field another strong team with the return of 6’4″ 2018 forward Mardareyon Clark and athletic 6’2″ 2018 guard Demarcus “Harky” Sharp.
Mountain Grove: The xx are looking for another trip to the Final Four behind the 2018 trio of Carter Otwell, Cade Coffman and Conner McNew, who all averaged 13 points a game.
Duchense: The Pioneers return all five senior starters from a 17-win team, including 6’6″ forward Adam Moore, 6’5″ forward Mitchell Fairless and 6’5″ post Luke Lowenstein.
Lutheran North: A young and talented Crusaders team played for a district title last year. North returns talented 6’5″ 2020 guard Jordan Nesbit and 6’2″ 2019 guard Jalen White and a host of others.
Park Hills Central: The Rebels are looking for another district championship with the return of 6’0″ 2018 guard Wade Scherffius and a pair of talented 2020s in 6’5″ Breven McMullen and 6’1″ Brent Wagner.
Trinity: The Titans have an excellent group of young players on hand with 2020 guards Rashad McDaniel, T.J. Rush and 6’10” 2020 post Ryan Kalkbrenner along with 6’4″ 2019 athlete Dejuan Young.
Springfield Catholic: The Irish return a strong corps from a 20-win season, led by talented 2019 guards Jake Branham, Charles O’Reilly and 6’7″ 2018 forward Ian Cochran.
Hallsville: The Indians return several key players from a 20-win season, led by 6’2″ 2018 guard Graham Moser and 6’2″ 2018 guard Ethan Thompson.
Saxony Lutheran: Coming off a berth in the state semifinals a year ago, Saxony returns 6’3″ 2018 guard Jalen Williams, 6’8″ 2018 post Trae Robinson, plus add 6’5″ 2018 transfer Austin Jarvis.
Caruthersville: The Tigers have a solid unit from last year’s team that played for a district championship, led by 6’5″ 2018 forward Tallon Fonda.
Monroe City: The Panthers are coming off a districtchampionship season in 2017. They are led by talented 6’3″ 2019 guard CE Talton.
Christian O’Fallon- Hall of Fame coach Terry Hollander has a strong 2018 duo of 6’6″ Zach Harding and 5’11” Zach Niemeyer and a host of talented freshmen.
