Best Available 2018s: Post Players
This five-part series will highlight the best available prospects in Ohio’s 2018 class. We will go position by position, in order for college coaches and scouts to use these articles as a resource heading into the winter months.
These lists start with the top available prospect and go in order from there. Come back each day for a new list!
Al Johnson, 6’7”, Akron Ellet/TNBA Kaminski
Johnson’s freakish length allows him to defend the rim at a high level. He holds offers from Walsh, Cincinnati Christian, and Lourdes.
Tre Williams, 6’6”, Reynoldsburg/All Ohio Red
Williams compensates for any shortcomings in height with his strong frame. He holds offers from Air Force, Urbana, Grand Valley State, Davenport, Wheeling Jesuit, and Alderson Broaddus.
James Anderson, 6’8”, Troy Christian/OEBA Purple
Anderson’s combination of nimble feet and soft touch make him extremely hard to stop inside. He has offers from Cedarville and St. Francis (IN).
Kollin Van Horn, 6’8”, Fairland/Tri State Express
Van Horn is a solid rim protector but he doesn’t hold any scholarship offers.
Mario Caywood, 6’6”, Benedictine/TNBA East
The dual-sport athlete from Benedictine bodies opponents inside for positioning and inside buckets. Caywood has plenty of Division III interest but no scholarship offers.
Stanley Williams, 6’7”, Eastmoor Academy/VCC Ohio Warriors Pro Bound
Williams improves every time we see him. He enters the season with one of the best Division II teams in Ohio and an offer from West Virginia Tech.
Harrison Gough, 6’8”, Lima Bath/Northwest Ohio Basketball Club
Gough needs to get stronger around the basket but his length and fundamental skills allow him to excel. He has Division III interest.
Andrew Golda, 6’8”, Dublin Jerome/VCC-NOVA (Beard)
Golda is a strong screener that runs the floor well. He currently doesn’t have any scholarship offers
