Best Available 2018 Posts
Who are the best uncommitted prospects remaining in the state of Illinois in the 2018 class after the early signing period? We break them down by position. Here are the post prospects!
Jalen Shaw (Larkin)
Shaw is a big man that has great defensive potential as a rim protector and rebounder. Offensive upside as well. Runs floor well.
Level Projection: Mid-Major/JUCO
Tyree and Treavon Martin (Curie)
These two brothers are most likely a package deal. They are defensive presences with their shot blocking and each has shown emerging skill over the last year.
Level Projection: Low-Major
Kyle King (St. Charles North)
King is one of my favorites because he just gets stuff done! Crafty post that knows how to use angles and score on the block very efficiently.
Level Projection: D2
Gabe Bergeron (Dundee Crown)
Under the radar post with size at 6’8” and solid athleticism. Impressed in July on the circuit and should find a nice home after the season at a D2 program.
Level Projection: D2
Jordan Boyd (St. Joseph’s)
Boyd is a fundamentally sound post that isn’t overly athletic, but has a high skill level on the block and rebounds well.
Level Projection: D2/D3+
Paul O’Leary (Lemont)
O’Leary is a physical post that struggled with injuries this summer. High IQ kid that rebounds well in his area and with a solid senior season should have his recruitment pick up.
Level Projection: D2/D3+
Mick Sullivan (Marmion)
Big and country strong center that is solid as a post scorer and can hit an occasional mid-range jumper.
Level Projection: D2/D3+
Dusan Mahorcic (Niles Notre Dame)
Upside post that continues to improve offensively and is still learning the game. Look for him to put up quality numbers this year.
Level Projection: D3+
Caleb Strohmeier (Edwardsville)
Tough junk yard dog four man that competes, rebounds, and can stretch the floor with his shot.
Level Projection: D3+
