Why A Frontrunner: This team out of Evansville has been building up the last few years and they are now ready to breakout. With senior guard Dylan Penn making a big move this summer with his development, you now have a guy that can go out and get you points whenever you need it. Add around him a few guards in Cade Graham and Branson Combs where you have shooters and the offense should be fine. You also have another standout in Sam Devault who has taken big strides as well. Drew Hart and Max Braun are big bodies you can use down low for matchups and give this team more versatility. They have a lot of pieces that came together this offseason and could be among the best teams in the state.
Outlook: For Evansville Memorial, they have a schedule that should allow them to rack up some wins. The only really difficult games on their schedule are against Evansville Bosse, potentially three times, Castle, and Jeffersonville. Most of those games come in the first half of the season so you should see what they are made of pretty early on. They will have to beat Evansville Bosse in Sectionals to make their run but they are equipped to do it but Bosse has the experience advantage there. Get out of Sectionals and they could be in the State Championship game come late March.
