2A Watch List: Top Scorers
With the 2A Region previews done, here are the top scorers from 2A. These particular players should be highlighted on every coaches scouting report. With games starting soon, these guys will look to increase their scoring input from last season.

Zachary Hansen 6’3 PF/C 2018 Altamont
Hansen is an undersized big, but he is active on the glass and creates a lot of second chance scoring opportunities for himself. In addition, he has solid footwork and a soft touch around the rim.
Sano Gasana 6’5 SF/PF 2018 Layton Christian
Gasana might have the most next level value out of any of the players on this list. He is lengthy and athletic which aids him in being able to score the basketball in an array of ways. He will be looked to as a leader and a big time play maker for the team in this upcoming season.
Sam Hatch 6’0 SG 2019 American Prep
Hatch is one of two talented Juniors who will be key to American Prep being successful. Hatch is more of a scorer and will most likely lead the team in scoring this upcoming season. He is a capable shooter who will let it fly from deep.
Perry Weiss 5’7 PG 2019 American Prep
Weiss is a capable scorer who also does a great job of getting his teammates involved. His well-balanced game makes him a difficult prospect to guard. When he gets into the paint, he does a great job of finding the open man when the help side defense rotates.
Jack Dischmann 6’1 SF/PF 2019 Rowland Hall
Dischmann is another undersized post on this list who scores the basketball well on the block and does a good job on the glass. What he lacks in height, he makes up for with toughness and heart. Dischmann is poised to have a huge season for Rowland Hall as they hope to get back on the map this upcoming season.
Davis Heslington 6’3 SG 2018 Beaver
Heslington is not just one of the top scorers in the 2A classification, he is one of the leaders for the Mr. Basketball award. Beaver is going to be stout this upcoming season due in large part to Heslington’s abilities. He can shoot the basketball extremely well and is capable of creating around the rim.
Porter Hollingshead 6’1 PG 2018 Beaver
Hollingshead is a facilitator who is capable of scoring the basketball when needed. He is one of the best point guards in 2A due to his ability to manage the tempo of the game and get his teammates involved. He brings a plethora of skills to the table that will aid Beaver in being one of the favorites to win the state championship.
Ethan Guymon 6’2 SF/PF 2018 Parowan
Guymon and Parowan look poised to have a huge season this year. With two of their top players returning from last year, this group will be stout. Guymon will provide this team with a paint presence and a guy who can finish around the rim. Further, he also brings a physicality to the team.
Trevor Bassett 6’0 PG/SG 2018 Parowan
Bassett aids Guymon greatly. His ability to distribute the basketball assists Guymon with getting touches in spots where he can be productive. With that said, Bassett is also capable of scoring the basketball. He will be relied upon to play a combo guard position and be more of a scorer this upcoming season.
