2019 Players Who Are A ‘Coach’s Dream’
Earlier we looked at players in the class of 2018 who do something special or different that make them a ‘coach’s dream’. Today we will look at four players in the class of 2019 who every coach would dream of having. Not necessarily because of skill alone, but because something sets them apart. To be a ‘coach’s dream’ that something needs to be unique and extremely desirable to a coach.
Deondre Bonaparte (2019, G, Ferndale)
Deondre BonaparteThis young man is the definition of class. He wins and loses with dignity and talks to coaches and media with an appreciative tone. But don’t be fooled, Bonaparte plays basketball with passion and fire. He’s the first to the gym and the last to leave. While some players fire up random jumpers to warm up, he grabs a ball and goes through a preparation process. Any coach would dream of having Deondre Bonaparte on their roster.
Charles Anderson (2019, G, Warren Woods Tower)
Every coach wants a physical player. But coaches dream of having a young man who is willing to completely sacrifice his body for the game. Anderson is that player. He is strong and tough, and he’s not afraid to use those attributes. He will literally do whatever it takes to be successful and lead his team to a win. Anderson is able to work harder and be stronger than his competition. Charles Anderson uses his strength and determination to be a player who is a coach’s.
Cam Hudson (2019, PG, Detroit Loyola)
What coach wouldn’t want a star player who is a quiet leader and a team chemistry guy? Well, that’s Hudson. First of all, he can do it all: run the offense, distribute, score, and play defense. Even better, he does it as a quiet leader who keeps the team together. Hudson will shoulder the load for an entire team and do it with a smile. He will be the first to credit his teammates and be humble about his own success. Players like Cam Hudson are hard to find and that makes him a coach’s dream.
Nolan Foster (2019, PF, Mattawan)
Some players let their effort do the talking. If you watch Foster play or practice you will see a young man who leaves it all on the floor. He gives the type of effort that makes you tired just watching. He’ll scrap and claw his way through a game or workout and just when you think Foster has nothing left, he’ll give more. Nolan Foster has a work ethic that coaches dream about.
