2018 Holy Trinity PG Brandon Schwab talks upcoming season and more
2018 Holy Trinity PG Brandon Schwab is a true playmaker.
The senior has showcased impressive ballhandling skills and passing ability throughout his high school career. This past season, Schwab and Holy Trinity went 21-7 which included an appearance in the Class 5A region semifinals.
Schwab had this to say about his junior campaign.
“Last season we didn’t do as well as we expected and that’s because we were too confident about ourselves,” Schwab told Prep Hoops Florida. “I learned a lot about being able to carry a type of “swag” within your program but also coming ready to work every day, no matter how tired or sore you are from the day before.”
The 6’1″, 185-pounder ran with the Broward County Cougars this summer. He called it a great opportunity and he wanted to thank coach Grazziani for the chance to play with them.
“We were able to come in ninth in the nation at AAU Nationals and had a decent run out in Las Vegas,” Schwab said.
No offers have come yet for Schwab but he said Marietta College, NYU, Flagler and The University of Tampa have all shown interest in him as of late.
In terms of his biggest strengths, Schwab pointed to his improved shooting ability and his first step on the attack. He calls himself a tenacious defender, but he says he’d like to get a little better off the ball and not lose his man in the rotation.
Schwab is a really fun player to watch. He does all the little things that you want out of your starting point guard. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll latch on somewhere in college next year whether that is at the Division II or Divison III level. He has a solid opportunity to be the top guy for the Tigers this season.
