As the the Kentucky High School season gets underway this week, Prep Hoops Kentucky makes some All-Region Team predictions. Here, we take a look at the 10th Region:
All 10th Region Team Predictions:
Dontaie Allen, Pendleton County / 6’5, Wing / 2019
- Allen is ranked as one of the top five players in Kentucky’s 2019 class. He currrently holds offers from in-state schools Eastern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Morehead State, Winthrop, and IUPUI. He averaged 29.1 points and 12.2 rebounds as a sophomore last season.
Leevi Dunaway, Mason County / 5’10, PG / 2018
- Dunaway helped lead the Royals to a district championship last season as a junior. He averaged 22.1 points per game while shooting 48% from the field.
Will Philpot, George Rogers Clark / 6’5 SF, PF /2018
- Philpot has interest from a number of small college programs, including Midway, Asbury, Pikeville and Georgetown. Philpot averaged right at 12 points and 10 rebounds as a junior.
Eric Johnson, Paris / Guard / 2018
- Johnson averaged 15 points and 4.3 rebounds for Paris last season, helping Paris win the 10th Region All “A” Classic and 40th District championship.
Ryan Cooper, George Rogers Clark / Guard, Forward / 2018
- Helping GRC obtain a 20-13 overall record and a berth to the 10th Region tournament, Cooper averaged just under 14 points per game, shooting 44% from 3-point range.
Keep An Eye On:
Chase Taylor, George Rogers Clark / Guard /2018
- Taylor scored 18 points in GRC opening game of the season and averaged just under 10 points per game last season.
Ben Swolsky, St. Patrick / Guard /2018
- Averaged 18 points per game last season, received offers from Ohio Wesleyan and Ohio Northern, as well as Mount St. Joesph in Cincinnati.
Tanner Clos, Campbell County / Forward / 2018
- Clos will be looked on to fill the void left by the graduation of Cole Heygi, who averaged 18 points per game last season. Clos averaged just under 10 points and 4 rebounds per game while helping lead Campbell County to a 37th District championship. The Camels fell just short of a trip to the state tournament, losing to Scott – whom they had defeated in the district championship game.
Dalton Perkins, Mason County / 6’9, Power Forward / 2018
- At 6’9, Perkins has upside. Getting him to learn how to score and rebound the ball better at his size could make Perkins a valuable asset at the next level somewhere. He and Leevi Dunaway should provide the Royals a nice one-two punch.
Brennan Canada, George Rogers Clark / 6’5, Wing / 2019
- The 2019 wing from GRC is already getting interest from Air Force, Ohio, and Lafayatte. Canada averaged 16.8 points and 8.1 at Montgomery County last season as a sophomore, before transferring to George Rogers Clark. Canada and host of other players could make the Cardinals a favorite to win the region.
Jordan Graham, George Rogers Clark / 6’3, Guard/ 2019
- Graham averaged 11 points as a sophomore last season and had a solid summer, earning him interest from a number of college programs. Look for him to have an even better junior campaign.
Quenton Turley, Harrison County / 6’0, Point Guard / 2019
- Turley averaged 12 points per game last season as a sophomore for Harrison County. He and Spencer Free will hope to build on their 6 win season from last year. Harrison County did win the 38th District championship.
Spencer Free, Harrison County / 6’3, Guard / 2019
- Free had a good summer playing with Team (CKY) Vision. He averaged 12.3 points per game as a sophomore last season while shooting 43.2% from the field.
