10 names to watch in 2021 – watch list
Here is my Top 20 guys to look at for the class of 2021. This isn’t a ranking. This is a list compiled of notable players from this class.
Class of 2021, 6’1, guard, Iyzik L. Pam of Todd Beamer high school is a force to be reckoned with. This young man is already playing at an ELITE level and he’s only a FRESHMAN!!!
Class of 2021 Markell Jackson is ready to make early noise at the high school level. Jackson will be attending Foster High School and he is very excited about his opportunity to have an impact as a freshman.
Class of 2021 prospect Shane Nowell is ready to make a strong impact his freshman season. Nowell is the younger brother of University of Washington freshman Jaylen Nowell. The lefty has a good feel for the game, always getting his teammates involved and taking over with his scoring if necessary. He does a good job balancing everything out and mixing it up, keeping defenders guessing.
Rising freshman guard DaShawn Dupervil has had an impressive summer with TEAM UP. The 2021 lead guard is a major scorer first. He can also facilitate when the paint starts to clog and teams focus on his dribble drive ability. He has a solid feel for the game and makes quick passes to his teammates. He is constantly moving without the ball and is a fierce defender. Plays with toughness and has leadership potential. He will need to show that more this season as potential freshman varsity player for Timberline High School in Lacey, WA. He is a shoot first combo guard but can also slow the pace down and get a team into its sets. When he is looking to attack the basket, he can mix it up well with an occasional three of the catch.
Devonte Fuller is an impressive young forward. Already standing at 6 foot 2 with long legs is a nightmare in the open floor with his speed, high motor, and physicality. He can fill up the stat sheet like no other. He is a consistent mid range shooter and attacks the basket with power. Even though he has a skinny frame his power comes from his lower body where he is able to elevate over anyone in his grade level.
Class of 2021 6’1 guard Omari Maulana is poised and ready to have a break out freshman year for the Life Christian Academy Eagles. This young man is as aggressive as they come. He has a very good handle, good foot work to set up his blow by attacks and is a physical defender on the wing. He has a good mid-range jump shot and has the ability to apply pressure to the opposing guard all game along, which doesn’t only take intensity but HEART.
Class of 2021 forward 6’7 Paolo Banchero is not the average 14 year old kid. You don’t think of somebody already 6’7 and about 200 pounds. Well this isn’t the average kids and he doesn’t have just average skill. This young man displays excellent footwork, a fierce competitive attitude, aggressive on both end of the court and a humble demeanor. Anybody who has had the chance to see this young man will say the same thing.
Nolan Hickman a 6’0 guard from Eastside Catholic is a beast. Nolan is not a back down type of player. He plays with the grit and grim you need a undersized point guard to play with. Never judge a book by its cover and I promise you if you judge Nolan Hicksman he might drop 30 on you. Coming in as a freshman he’ll need to keep that kind of attitude and high energy to ensure a starting spot in a tough EC roster.
Basketball has been a valuable social tool for class of 2021 Jermaine Davis’ development. When the Class of 2021 player joined the Seattle Rotary in the fourth grade he arrived as a kid still trying to find himself.
Davis already knew many of his Rotary teammates from previous sports but as a novice basketball player he didn’t feel comfortable speaking up in certain situations. Seattle Rotary coach Daryll Hennings is proud of the way Davis matured over the course of his time with the team.
“When we first got him he was timid and unsure of himself. Really good athlete but just was not sure of himself or basketball,” Hennings said. “To watch his progression over the last few years has been really gratifying because he’s not only turned into a really good player but also into a leader on our team.”
Noah Pepper is the prototypical glue guy that every team needs. The 6-foot-2 Class of 2021 small forward provides a smorgasbord of skills for the Seattle Select Warriors. Pepper can score, pass, handle and play stingy defense. Most importantly though, Pepper makes the type of unselfish plays that often translate to winning.
