Region 7-AAAA Players to Watch
This region we cut it down since we just recently covered Wilson HS in a another article. Here is a look at some of the players in Region 7-AAAA to watch this season not including the Wilson HS Tigers.
Quan’Daveon McCollum (2018) – Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville)
McCollum 6’4 has a decent frame to play inside the post but just doesn’t have a great feel for the game. McCollum is a hard-worker and blue collar kid.
Robert Swanson (2018) – Myrtle Beach HS
Swanson makes the offense go for the Seahawks. Swanson a point guard has received college interest from Francis Marion University (SC) NCAA D2 and Guilford College (NC) according to Head Coach Craig Martin.
O’Neil McBride (2018) – Myrtle Beach HS
McBride was a pleasant surprise a few weeks back at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo. McBride 6’5 can knockdown some shots and has great length out on the perimeter. McBride has added 20 pounds to his body over the past year. Great student in the classroom.
Jordan Furlough (2018) – St James HS (Murrells Inlet)
Furlough 6’7 has the tools but just really needs to figure it out on the floor. Furlough likes to play face-up on perimeter and can knock down the perimeter jumper.
Tyron Stockdale (2019) – North Myrtle Beach HS
Stockdale is a confident off the ball guard. Stockdale creates his own shot on the floor. Stockdale is off to a great start for the 7-0 Chiefs on the gridiron. Stockdale a wide receiver recently had 7 receptions – 220 yards and 3 touchdowns in a victory over rival Myrtle Beach HS.
Cason McClendon (2019) – North Myrtle Beach HS
McClendon 6’5 is the quarterback for the Chiefs on the football field. The Chiefs might get a late start to the basketball season this season depending on a playoff run. The Chiefs are currently #2 in the State in Class 4A.
Emorie Knox (2020) – Myrtle Beach HS (pictured on front)
Knox makes up the other half of the Seahawks back court. Knox is as quick as they come turning the corner and getting the ball up the floor. Knox is ranked #6 in the Palmetto State 2020 Class. Knox and Swanson are featured in a article Prep Hoops did called Snipers on the Strand over the weekend.
Payton Lewis (2020) – St James HS (Murrells Inlet)
Lewis 5’9 had some good showings this summer with Manzer Basketball Club on the AAU circuit. Lewis a tough gritty kid will be looked to provide a lot of production this season with Furlough for the Sharks.
