This is always an interesting time of year, as there are a lot of things going on, but there really isn’t much organized basketball being played. While the college coaches are trying to make key decisions, players are back in their home gyms getting better. With each week this fall, we are going to take a look at the latest recruiting news from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
MONTRELL HORSEY COMMITS TO DRAKE
Joppatowne ’18 point guard Montrell Horsey, one of the most underrated guards in the state of Maryland, ended his recruitment with a pledge to Drake last week. Our very own Colby Giacubeno recently wrote a nice feature on Horsey that is definitely worth checking out.
JONATHAN NORFLEET OFF THE BOARD TO WAGNER
Salem (Virginia Beach) ’18 guard Jonathan Norfleet committed to Wagner this week. The talented 6-foot-2 combo guard had offers from Robert Morris and Maryland Eastern Shore among others.
KEYONTAE JOHNSON ANNOUNCES FINAL FOUR
Oak Hill Academy ’18 wing Keyontae Johnson, one of the state’s biggest stock risers in the last twelve plus months, has narrowed down his list to four schools. Virginia Tech, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Texas Tech are the schools he named.
