Recruiting Report: Grayson Nix (2018)
Grayson Nix is a 6’3 Combo Guard from Red Oak High School. Nix plays grassroots ball for the Oklahoma Impact.
Nix has good strength when posting up against a smaller guard. He has become a better ball handler over the summer to make him more of a versatile Wing. Nix has a solid shot from the perimeter coming off the dribble.
Before the upcoming season, Nix would like to become a better mid-range shooter. He would like to become a better overall Point Guard. He would like to develop better court vision and a higher basketball IQ.
Nix’s favorite NBA player is Kobe Bryant. Nix likes Bryant because of his Mamba mentality. He likes the fact that Bryant is not afraid of any opponent he is facing. He also loves Bryant’s ability to be clutch and finish games.
Nix is a multi-sport guy. He plays baseball as well as basketball, and baseball is his favorite thing to do if he is not playing basketball.
Nix currently has a 3.9 GPA and an ACT score of 23.
While looking for a college, Nix is looking for a school that is a four-year college. He wants to like the coaches and like what the school is all about. He wants to go to a school where he is comfortable and can come in and work for playing time right away. He is looking for a school that is the right fit for him. Along the college lines as well, Nix would like to major in business or physical therapy while in school.
Nix is currently ranked no. 24 in the 2018 class of Oklahoma. Prep Hoops projects Nix to the NCAA Division II level. He would like to take Red Oak back to the state championship in his senior year.
“We won the title my sophomore year and got upset in the Area finals last year,” said Nix. “I want to go back this year and win it all. I think we have a good chance to win it all.”
Nix will have the opportunity to open the eyes of colleges this season. He has multiple NCAA Division II programs recruiting him.
