Recruiting Report: Chris Roberts (2019)
Lincoln Park 2019 point guard Chris Roberts knows what the strength of his game is! Getting to the rack with authority. Attacking point guard with strength and athleticism. The Lincoln Park guard is primed for a breakout season after making major strides this summer with Young & Reckless. Consistently gets to the rim off the bounce. Finishes well in the paint through and around contact. Next step in his development is consistency on his jump shot and passing it better. D1 talent that should emerge this season.
How was it running with Young & Reckless on the circuit?
“It was definitely a different experience because I had never got that type of exposure before. It is a great program and a great team. We played really well this summer.”
It was unique teaming up with another fellow top 2019 lead guard in Artese Stapleton from Kenwood.
“Artese is one of the best point guards in the city. He is quick and knows how to get the ball to his teammates. He is a great passer. I love playing with him.”
How are things looking for Lincoln Park this year?
“I like the team. We are doing well in open gym. We are getting ready for the season. I think we are going to have a good year. My role is mostly being a scorer. They get the ball to me and help get me open looks.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“North Dakota gave me an offer and I have a few other schools interested.”
North Dakota is making him an early priority!
“I heard they have a good program. I talked to the coach on the phone for a while. We discussed about the program. I am looking forward to see what is coming next for them. I like them.”
