Recruiting Report: Anthony Riley (2019)
Anthony Riley is a 6’4 Wing from Westmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma. Riley plays for Gamechanger Hoops in grassroots play.
Riley is a phenomenal athlete who can dunk with the best of them. He is strong at getting to the rim from the wing and uses this ability to get to the rim to get his teammates involved and distribute the ball to them.
Before the upcoming season, Riley would like to become a better all-around shooter of the ball. He realizes that with his size that at the next level he will most likely not be playing a forward position. Knowing this, Riley has worked on becoming a better ball handler so that he can transition into a guard.
Last season ended in a way that no player wants. Riley got injured en route to a Class 6A tournament berth. He is confident that with the team that is coming back that the Jaguars will have a great chance to get back to the state tournament.
“With me bouncing back from the injury, and us having a lot of kids coming back, we should be good this year,” said Riley.
Riley like most kids in high school is a multi-sport athlete. Riley plays basketball and runs track and would like to do both at the next level. Although he wants to be a multi-sport college athlete, he wants to attend a school where he can learn. He wants to become a chemical engineer.
“I want to go somewhere I can learn and that offers me,” said Riley. “I don’t want to make my mom pay for school.”
Riley currently has a 4.0 GPA and is ranked No. 33 in the 2019 class of Oklahoma.
This next season, Riley will be focused on a couple of things. He felt underrated by his PrepHoops ranking and will be looking to impress to get his ranking up. He is also focused on doing whatever it takes to get his team a gold ball.
