Recruiting Report: Aaron Bokol (2019)
Eaglecrest point guard Aaron Bokol steps into a bigger role as a junior this winter. Bokol played with the Colorado Hawks this 16u season.
“Competing across the country with a great group of guys in front of many college coaches were the highlights,” Aaron told Prep Hoops about playing with the Hawks. “Next year (as a 17U player) I want to get an offer and be successful in the Adidas Gauntlet.”
“My game has improved in many ways. My jumpshot has become more consistent, I’ve gotten faster and quicker and more explosive. Also, I’ve been trying to become a great rebounding guard.”
The season is still several weeks away and Aaron has key things he’s working on to prepare for his basketball future.
“Athletically I want to be faster, stronger, and quicker,” Bokol said. “I want to improve my ball handling and develop not to only a good three-point shooter but a great one.”
Eaglecrest was 24-4 last season and expectations are once again high.
“We have a very talented team this year, but not many returners,” Aaron told Prep Hoops.
“We lost a lot of seniors last year. We are striving for nothing less than what we did last year. We should be able to accomplish the same thing that we accomplished last year.
“Our goal is to win back to back state championships. Win our league.”
College coaches have already began calling Bokol including a pair of Summit Division teams.
“I’m hearing from University of South Dakota, Nebraska-Omaha, and Concordia Nebraska,” Aaron said. “And Coach Simeon got a call from Colgate. I’m going on an unofficial visit to University of South Dakota on November 18.”
Pepperdine’s Colbey Ross is a player that has had a big impact on Bokal.
“Colbey Ross definitely influenced my game. Watching him over the years, and his work ethic make me want to be a better player everyday.
“My favorite hoopers are Carmelo Anthony and Dennis Smith Jr.”
