Nashville, TN., the site city where our 2017 Prospects On The Rize “FAB48” Showcase took place. This year’s “FAB48” was loaded with talent. The event brought in players from Ala., Ga., IL., Ind., and TN. Everyone came in to put in work. The height ranged from 5’11 to 6’8 and the talent level included guys who are solid D2, D1 Mid Major, with several high D1 to boast.
Class 2021 review:
Three of the more impressive young talents came from the class of 2021 Christian Smith, 5’10 (PG) from Ravenwood High School, Brentwood, TN. Tony Thompson, Jr. a 6’1 (SF) from Cane Ridge High School, Antioch, TN. and Terrell Arnold, 5’5 (PG) from Rossview High School, Clarksville, TN., all played well versus the upperclassmen.
Christian Smith, 5’10 PG
C. Smith, who runs the point for Ravenwood High Schools freshman team and Tennessee EDGE AAU played well this past weekend. Spotting up for the jumper while looking to knock down the deep ball, Smiths game was on par. He has a huge upside and if he continues to craft his game, in the near future, the kid’s jumpshot will get him noticed. Smith also handled the ball well versus the upperclassmen guards. One of our under the radar guy’s that you will have to keep up with.
Tony Thompson, Jr. 6’1 SF
Turning our attention to Tony Thompson, Jr., Cane Ridge High School and Tennessee EDGE AAU has great size and played well. From grabbing rebounds, to pushing the ball up the court, or slashing down the middle, Thompson, Jr. played like an upperclassman this past weekend. He needs to improve on his ball handling and being more consistent with his jumper, but the kid has great size. As his body matures, this kid is going to be something special. Thompson, Jr. is very talented and will help Cane Ridge High Schools freshman team become a front-runner to win the city title 2018, Nashville, TN.
Finally, the crafty Terrell Arnold (PG) from Rossview High school, Clarksville, TN. and Clarksville Gladiators AAU showed flashes of leadership the way he dished the ball out in transition. College coaches, put these guy’s on your college watch list for the class of 2021.
