Prospect Spotlight: Matthew Stone (2021)
Matthew Stone is a 6’4 Wing from Kingfisher High School. Stone can play the Guard or Forward role for Team Griffin in grassroots season. Stone is currently ranked #4 in the 2021 class of Oklahoma.
Stone is a strong passer of the ball with excellent vision of the court after a rebound. He is a good pick and roll player with a strong shot from the perimeter.Stone hopes to work on his overall shot and ability to dribble before the high school season starts in November.
His favorite memory on the court was being able to go to the CP3 camp. Stone attended the CP3 rising stars camp over the summer.
“It was a blessing,” said Stone. “Getting to go the campus of Wake Forest, North Carolina State, North Carolina, and Duke and just experience that was fun.”
While most of his time is spent preparing for the upcoming season, Stone’s favorite off the court activity is playing NBA 2k17 and hanging out with his friends.
Many people in the state of Oklahoma hate the name, Kevin Durant. Stone, on the other hand, loves Kevin Durant. He loves Durant for the way that he scores the rock. Looking to the future Stone is dreaming of attending North Carolina.

“My uncle is a North Carolina fan and that is my dream school,” said Stone. “That is where I want to go to school.
Stone currently has a GPA of 3.8. He will be taking the ACT in the Spring.
Overall, Stone wants to work on his game as a whole as he chases a state title. He looks to contribute to the reigning Class 4A state champions, Kingfisher Yellowjackets as they look to repeat as state champions. Kingfisher finished last season with a record of 21-5 and adds a talented wing this year as a freshman.
Stone has a bright future as a rising 2021 Wing in Oklahoma. He has good size for a Guard and will look to compliment a good high school team with his excellent perimeter shooting.
