Prospect Intro: Steven Crowl (2020)
Eastview sophomore 6-foot-9 big Steven Crowl had a fantastic 15u year with WOTN earning all state honors and now he’s a top prospect in Minnesota’s 2020 class.
“The top moment of the summer was winning the St. Cloud Great Plains tournament,” Crowl said. “I became more aggressive playing against better competition. I also think my post play improved by player bigger and stronger guys.”
As he prepares for his sophomore year at Eastview Crowl has found ways to not only compete with his team but work on his own, and with a trainer.
“I’m doing strength training 2-3 times a week with a trainer and I am doing individual basketball sessions. I also spend a lot of free time shooting at lifetime fitness and in my driveway.”
Crowl is a part of a group at Eastview that has many excited for the next three years of Lightning basketball.
“I am exited to possibly be a part of a strong sophomore class,” Crowl said. “I am looking forward to strong leadership and experience from the upper class men and I think we have some strong players coming up. Looking forward to what we can do as a team.”
Crowl played at the Eastview younger levels last year but is expected to make a varsity and/or junior varsity contribution this winter. He’s going to be a new name to schools but a name schools should learn about quickly.
As Steven continues to work on his game he is watching the way a few players are competing to take things from their game.
“Karl Anthony Towns is a player I watch because I like the way he plays the game and Kristaps Porzingis because I think I play like him. Lebron, Wiggins and Westbrook are three of my favorite players.”
