Prep Spotlight: Jermaine Patterson (2018) Bluffton HS
Patterson 5’11 guard plays both football and basketball for the Bobcats. Patterson was just named to Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas Football Game at Wofford College in Spartanburg.
Patterson averaged 27.5 ppg last season for the Bobcats. Patterson is ranked #41 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class in the Palmetto State.
How was last season at Bluffton HS?
It was great and a wonderful experience playing with the past seniors.
What is your exceptions this season for Bluffton HS?
I expect us to be on the same page more than we did in the previous season. I also think we have a pretty good chance to make it far in the playoffs this coming season.
How was playing AAU this summer?
Patterson played for Upward Stars Southeast 2018 this summer on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit. Patterson has played with Upward Stars Southeast 2018 over the past 3 summers.
What awards did you receive last year?
Patterson was named to All-Region team and the Class 3A All-State team.
How has playing both Basketball and Football helped you?
Football has helped me be physical and having a mindset not to be worried about contact. Believe it or not I use my quickness and cuts from basketball on the football field.
What skills can you at the next level?
Patterson is very aggressive on the defensive side of the floor. Patterson has a knack to score the ball and can score it from all 3 levels on the floor.
What skills can you improve to help you for the next level?
I’m in the weight room to get more muscle on my body and get stronger. I also need to add a floater to my game.
