Prep Hoops Battle in Bullhead Preview
The Battle in Bullhead is almost here. A number of highly skilled prospects will be in attendance. Below are some of the top prospects who have already registered to be at the event.
The Battle in Bullhead
Joe Heath 6’3 SG/SF 2018 Mohave High School
Heath won the player of year for his region last year en route to leading Mohave to 17 wins. He is a high caliber player who has received a lot of interest from schools at the next level due to his work ethic, skill set, and leadership. Heath has attended the two Top 250 Expos held in Phoenix in the past and had a lot of success.
DJ McNeal 5’11 PG 2018 Agua Fria
McNeal will be one of the top guards at the event. His ability to create for himself and others has been demonstrated more and more recently during his stints with club basketball. McNeal is poised to have a big senior season as he will be one of the top guards in all of 5A.
Keaton Rodgers 6’5 PF 2018 Sandra Day O’Conner
Rodgers has recently returned from an injury. Prior to the injury, Rodgers received a lot of attention due to his strength and fundamentals. With that said, he looked solid at the Top 250 Expo in Phoenix and will be joining us for the Battle in Bullhead. Expect a physical and fundamentally sound post presence.
Jacob Leslie 6’5 PF 2020 Mohave Accelerated Learning
Leslie also had a solid showing at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo in Phoenix. Despite only being a Sophomore, Leslie demonstrated a high basketball IQ and an ability to create scoring opportunities for himself. Further, he played selflessly and did all of the little things. He set solid screens which rewarded him with layups on his rolls.
Abraham Rodriguez 5’8 PG 2018 Lake Havasu
Rodriguez will be one of the biggest keys to Lake Havasu’s success this upcoming season. He demonstrated an ability to be a knockdown shooter this past year and will be the top scorer from last year’s team who returns. Rodriguez averaged nearly 2 three pointers per game last year while shooting it at 40% from three. Rodriguez could be one of the best shooters in attendance at the Battle in Bullhead.
Ben Petro 6’5 SF/PF 2018 Bradshaw Mountain
Petro will look to be a leader and one of the top play makers as well as scorers for Bradshaw Mountain this upcoming season. His size and strength aid him greatly in being able to create for himself. Further, he is solid in help-side on defense. Bradshaw Mountain should be improved this year with Petro playing a huge role.
Travis Moreno 5’11 SG 2018 Grand Canyon
Although Grand Canyon did not have the type of success that they would have liked to have had last season, they played a lot of youth. Moreno led the team in scoring this past year and should provide a presence that will help Grand Canyon have more success this upcoming season as they bring back the majority of their team.
Ryan Hopp 5’7 PG 2018 Lake Havasu
Hopp was not as much of a scoring threat as he will most likely be this upcoming season. However, he led the team in assistants and demonstrated a good feel for the game. He has a good ability to put his teammates in spots where they can be successful and to control the pace as well as tempo of the game.
