Pangos: 2020 National Scouting
PrepHoops was in the house in La Grange, Illinois all weekend for the Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp featuring some of the premier young prospects in the Midwest. We have extensive scouting on the event. Here is our 2020 National Scouting Report.
F Isaiah Jackson (Old Redford, MI)
Jackson was extremely impressive. He is currently the #2 prospect in the PrepHoopsMichigan 2020 rankings and we can see why he is so highly thought of as a recruit. The forward has length and projectability at 6’8”. The lanky sophomore consistently got on the glass with his quick second jump. Finished with agility around the hoop showing a soft touch. Ran the floor very fluidly. Major shot blocking presence with the ability to change a game with his shot blocking. High-major prospect.
SG Katrell Raimey (Olathe East, KS)
Raimey is a 6’4” wing from Kansas that is a born scorer! He is super athletic and has size for position. Drilled multiple deep threes in rhythm. Excels best in transition where he uses his physical gifts and athleticism to overpower the other team and finish at the cup. Should be a major scorer this year as a sophomore and is a D1 prospect!
SG TJ Bamba (Lincoln, CO)
Bamba is a strong two guard that can really put up points in a hurry! He drilled threes at a high clip throughout the event with a smooth looking shot. Also can use his strength to take it right at his opponent and play bully ball getting to the rim.
C Evan Brauns (Regina, IA)
Brauns is a 6’9” post out of the state of Iowa. He has broad shoulders and a strong build. One of the taller and stronger post prospects in attendance. He is an excellent rebounder. Snatches balls at their highest point and clears throwing a strong outlet pass. Mobile and runs the floor well. Posts up strong on the block. Pick and pop skill including being able to stretch the defense out to three. D1 prospect.
SG Chris Grubbs (Hamilton Southeastern, IN)
Grubbs is a 6’5” wing that has good size and strength at the two guard spot. Tough kid that contributes on the glass very well for his position. Powerful attacking downhill and getting to the hoop. Crisp passer.
G Darnell Scroggins (Ainsworth, MI)
This 5’11” combo guard out of the state of Michigan is extremely smooth with the rock in his hands. Solid passer and can hit a deep pull up jumper.
PF Raymond Terry (Bowman, IN)
This 6’8” big man has size and a thick body on the interior. Tough post defender that fights on the glass.
PF John Shanklin (Bellevue West, NE)
This 6’7” power forward is a broad shouldered four man that is extremely active on the interior. He is a plus rebounder that hits the glass on both ends. Shot blocking presence defensively. Flashed some offensive skill including a mid-range jumper.
SG Dallas Green (Ainsworth, MI)
Green is a 6’3” two guard that is a powerful wing with an explosive first step off the bounce. Plays with an outstanding motor and gets to the foul line at a high rate because of his relentless ability to attack downhill. Good passer in transition.
PF Darius Hannah (Milwaukee Academy Science, WI)
Hannah is a long and lanky 6’7” lefty forward. He is thin and will definitely need to add strength going forward. Showed flashes of being able to hit pull up jumpers. Long strides allow him to get to the hoop in just a couple dribbles. Light on his feet with a quick second jump getting on the offensive glass for put backs. High-major upside.
PG Cameron Baker (Davidson, MI)
Baker is a tiny 5’7” point guard that is a plus passer. Really knows how to lead a team being vocal on the floor. Gets others involved and has a feel for running a team. As a scorer mixed in some runners in the lane.
SG Xavier Bell (Andover Central, KS)
At 6’3” this shooting guard from Kansas is a lefty that is a scorer at multiple levels. Hit a couple pull up threes. Also a quality on ball defender.
PG Tony Dahl (Buffalo, MN)
Dahl is a 6’1” point guard that is a slick passing point guard. Showed a quality feel for the game and made a lot of great finds for open looks. Gets out in transition finding his teammates for buckets. Didn’t score a ton in the games we saw, but can really dish the rock.
PF Curtis Harrison (The Seven Hills, OH)
Harrison was one of the top Ohio prospects at the event. He is a 6’5” power forward that has solid mobility. Got on the offensive glass for put backs. Used a euro step finish handling it in the lane.
SG Sam Richardson (Hancock, MO)
Richardson is a 6’5” wing who presents quality size at the two guard spot. He is a slashing wing that likes to get to the hoop off the bounce using his athleticism. Active defender.
