Palmetto State : Region 7-AAAAA Players to Watch Part 1 Seniors
Region 7-AAAAA is one of the biggest regions in the state with 8 teams. Prep Hoops will break this region down into 2 segments to cover it. Wando HS plays in Region 7-AAAAA and has a enrollment over 4,000 plus students.
Connor Reed (2018) – Ashley Ridge HS
Reed 6’7 has really improved over the past year and has gotten stronger. Reed a swimmer also is a very solid student in the classroom according to Head Coach Brad Dobbels.
D’angelo Knight (2018) – Fort Dorchester HS
Knight will concentrate on the football after already committing to Georgia State University for next season.
Chris Fordham (2018) – Goose Creek HS
Fordham was bothered by a ACL injury last season for the Gators. Fordham played this summer with TMP. Fordham shoots the ball very well on the perimeter. Newberry, Clayton State and Francis Marion University have all shown interest in him and Bennett this fall according to Gators Head Coach Blake Hall.
Erick Bennett (2018) – Goose Creek HS
Bennett 6’0 point guard forms the Gators back court with Fordham. Bennett keeps the ball on a string and really pressures the ball the full length of the floor.
Starke Salmons (2018) – James Island HS
Salmons averaged 17 ppg and 6 assists last season for the Trojans. Salmons 6’2 combo guard is very unselfish on the floor.
Eric Burks (2018) – Stratford HS (Goose Creek)
Burks a face-up forward likes to play on the perimeter. Burks 6’7 can extend defenses with his 3 point range. Burks ran with the Karolina Khaos this summer. Burks added 10 ppg and 5.7 rebounds last season for the Knights.
Shaquan “Shaq” Davis (2018) – Summerville HS (pictured on front)
Davis holds several offers after playing with TMP this summer on the AAU Circuit. Davis currently is playing wide receiver on the gridiron for the Green Wave. Davis a high flying forward averaged 17.8 ppg and 10.4 rebounds last season.
Davis holds offers from Charleston Southern, Duquense, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, South Carolina State and Winthrop this fall.
Ty Buncum (2018) – Wando HS (Mount Pleasant)
Buncum is a jet quick point guard for the Warriors. Buncum can really push the ball up the floor and has the ability to get the ball in the paint. Buncum led the Warriors last season with 12.5 ppg.
Skylar Williams (2018) – West Ashley HS
Williams is the leader of the talented Wildcats squad. Williams a converted combo guard averaged 17.6 ppg last season. Williams and the Wildcats should be the favorites to win Region 7-AAAAA this season after adding 3 players to the mix.
Jackie Jackson (2018) – West Ashley HS
Jackson is a great passer and sees the floor very well. Jackson plays very unselfish on the floor and with this team this season he will have plenty of weapons to pass the ball to.
Randall Litmon (2018) – West Ashley HS
Litmon came back across the bridge back to West Ashlet after starting his career here as a freshman. Litmon played the past 2 seasons at Northwood Academy. Litmon a left-handed sneaky athlete averaged 9.2 ppg last season for the Chargers. Litmon should improve on those stats after playing with Game Elite Black this summer.
Shelton Brown (2018) – West Ashley HS
Brown a role guy on this squad is very athletic. Brown has been out this fall with a shoulder injury.
The West Ashley Wildcats and Head Coach Ronnie Dupre will be the favorite to win the region this season.
