Palmetto State : Region 6-AAAA Players to Watch
The 6-AAAA Region this season should be led by the Lakewood HS Gators. Lets take a look in this article to see some of the players in this region.
Jamal Walton (2018) – Crestwood HS (Dalzell)
Walton 6’0 will take over the leadership role for the Knights with the departure of several seniors off of last years team.
Kris’Shawn Hickman (2018) – Darlington HS
Hickman 6’4 is a extremely athletic and bouncy wing player. Hickman will look to build on his on 9.6 ppg and 4 rebounds last season for the Falcons.
Jalian Smith (2018) – Darlington HS
Smith 6’5 didn’t play this much over the summer. Smith a athletic combo forward has the potential but must stay focused on the floor. Smith ran with the Carolina Stampede this past summer.
Kyron Gray (2018) – Hartsville HS
Gray had a good junior season last year for the Red Foxes. Gray 6’7 played this summer with Team South Carolina. Gray averaged 10.1 pg and 9.9 rebounds last season.
Grant Singleton (2018) – Lakewood HS (Sumter)
Singleton is the reigning Player of the Year in the region last season. Singleton a guard has been a fixture for the Gators Head Coach Bryan Brown in the back court. Singleton a mature minded kid has a great feel for the game and a knack to score the ball.
Ahkeem Lawson (2018) – Lakewood HS (Sumter)
Lawson has vastly improved since arriving at Lakewood HS from nearby Sumter HS after his sophomore year. The left-handed Lawson 6’6 finishes around the basket with a nice touch.
Bradwin Salmond (2018) – Lugoff-Elgin HS
Salmond is committed to play baseball at Spartanburg Methodist College next season. Salmond averaged 15.8 ppg last season.
Nazir Andino (2019) – Crestwood HS (Dalzell)
Andino transferred over to the Knights after playing last season at Laurence Manning Academy. Andino a off guard is a very streaky shooter on the floor. Andino and Walton should look to lead new Head Coach Tony Wilson.
Trae Hannibal (2019) – Hartsville HS
Hannibal and Singleton are the top 2 players in this region. Hannibal just gets stuff done on the floor. Hannibal explodes to the rack and rebounds the ball very well for a guard. Hannibal is a stat sheet-stuffer in the newspaper. Hannibal averaged 12.8 ppg, 7 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season for the Red Foxes.
Juwan Perdue (2019) – Lakewood HS
Perdue is coming along very nicely for the Gators. Perdue is one of the better players in the 2019 class and should see more playing time this season with the departure of several seasons. Perdue a left-handed wing played with the South Carolina Ballers this summer.
Ceasare Edwards (2021) – Hartsville HS
Edwards 6’7 will look to play side by side with Gray in the post for the Red Foxes. Edwards will be the future for the Red Foxes down the road.
