Palmetto State : Region 4-AAAA Players to Watch
Prep Hoops journeys across the state over to Region 4-AAAA in this article. This region seems to be a battle between Aiken HS, North Augusta HS and South Aiken HS. Lets take a look at the region right here. A college coach could do himself a favor and checkout this region with the talent of seniors this season in Region 4-AAAA this year.
Kevin Williamson (2018) – Aiken HS
Williamson is a ultra athletic kid that plays every possession likes it’s last one. Williamson a wing player with a GREAT MOTOR has solid grades in the classroom according to Head Coach Darris Jackson. Williamson really has the ability to explode to the rack.
Calvin Mathis (2018) – Aiken HS
Mathis a physically mature young man played this July period with TMP. Mathis 6’5 should team up with Williamson in leading the Fighting Green Hornets this season. Mathis has a good skill package and can handle the ball at times and has great length.
Anthoney Ray (2018) – Midland Valley (Graniteville)
Ray a slender-sleek wing player had a up and down summer with the Carolina Wolves. Ray has a long wingspan and a nice mid-range game. Ray was a hidden gem back in the spring in a segment Prep Hoops did. Ray averaged 15.6 ppg last season for the Mustangs.
Tez Collins (2018) – North Augusta HS
Collins 6’4 led the Yellow Jackets in scoring last season at 13.5 ppg. Collins has received interest from South Carolina State, Coker College and Francis Marion University this fall according to Harrell.
Bryson Mozone (2018) – North Augusta HS
Mozone really came on strong this summer after playing with Team Power. Mozone a solid student in the classroom recently took a unofficial visit to Cleveland State University earlier this fall. Western Carolina University and Ohio University have also expressed interest according to Head Coach Tony Harrell.
Mozone averaged 10.5 ppg last season.
Melvin McKie (2018) – South Aiken HS (pictured on front)
McKie 5’9 point guard is the leader of the Thoroughbreds offense. McKie a jet quick point guard gets the ball in the paint or finds the open man penetrating to the cup. McKie averaged 15.1 ppg and 5 rebounds last season for the 15-8 Thoroughbreds.
Joshua Drayton (2018) – South Aiken HS
Drayton is one-tough minded kid that has no position on the floor. Drayton 5’11 a strong kid plays in the post and just does what the team needs him to do. Drayton is a great glue guy on a team. Drayton averaged 9.2 ppg last season.
Na’zae Baltimore (2019) – Aiken HS
Baltimore had a good summer running with Carolina Pressure on the AAU Circuit. Baltimore 6’6 carves out space in the paint and shows a soft touch from 6-8 feet.
Daniel Parrish (2018) has transferred out of South Aiken HS and now attends nearby Aquinas (Augusta, GA). The left-handed Parrish averaged 13.6 ppg last season.
