Palmetto State : Recruiting News
The days are fast approaching the start of high school basketball here in the Palmetto State. Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some players in the state with some recruiting updates.
Alex Caldwell is off the board from Wilson HS (Florence) Caldwell a point guard averaged 14 ppg and 7 assists last season for the Tigers. The Tigers finished the season at 22-1 under Head Coach Derrick McQueen.
Caldwell is the #8 ranked player in the 2018 Palmetto State Class.
Caldwell recently committed to Southeast Missouri State and Head Coach Rick Ray. The Redhawks plays in the Ohio Valley Conference. Coach Ray worked at Clemson as a assistant coach for a short spell. Caldwell played the past few summers with Upward Stars Southeast 2018.
Isaih Moore recently went to twitter and stated that his current list of 5 schools were College of Charleston, Colorado State University, East Carolina University, Northeastern University and Stetson University.
Moore the reigning region player of the year player for the Sumter HS Gamecocks played this summer with Upward Stars Southeast 2018. Moore 6’8 skilled wing has really grown the past few years and could possibly look into a post graduate year after this season. Moore is ranked #7 in the 2018 Palmetto State Class.
Jerrel KellyJerrel Kelly recently got a visit from Canisius Head Coach Reggie Witherspoon and Assistant Coach Chris Hawkins. Kelly 6’9 left-handed post player returns to Laurence Manning Academy in Manning this season. Kelly a teammate of Caldwell and Moore on Upward Stars Southeast 2018 could have a breakout season for Head Coach Will Epps.
Kelly was visited earlier by Texas Tech University Head Coach Chris Beard according to Epps. The Swampcats play in the SCISA ranks. Kelly is ranked #13 in the 2018 Palmetto State Class.
