Palmetto State : Player for each class
Prep Hoops SC takes a look at a player from each class that could have a big season this year. These players go under the radar or live off the beaten path somewhere throughout the Palmetto State. Look for these names to pop up this season on the recruiting trail in the years to come. These are some players from the Lower State to follow.
Sheldon Bradley (2021) – CE Murray HS (Greeleyville)
Bradley already 6’5 will enter into the War Eagles lineup right away this coming season. Bradley was first seen by Bret Swanson – Swanny’s Roundball Review and Prep Hoops back in March playing on the small AAU circuit with Team Gerald. Bradley a long and athletic young man is better defensively right now than offensively. Bradley will get his first varsity action at the Georgetown Shootout in November. Prep Hoops will be in attendance to start the season.
Carrele Cooper (2020) – Andrews HS
Cooper could be a major impact for the Yellow Jackets this coming season in there new offensive scheme. Cooper 6’1 keeps the ball on a string and can knockdown the perimeter jumper. Cooper plays the passing lanes very well with his great length. Cooper will be a name for future to monitor coming out of Georgetown County.
Marlow Gilmore (2019) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses) (pictured on front)
Gilmore had a great summer playing with a local AAU teammate in the Columbia Hoyas. Swanny’s Roundball Review first saw Gilmore play a few years back in Denmark, SC at a game. Gilmore a freakish athlete at 6’5 can really get up off the floor. Gilmore a left-handed jumping jack excels in the transition game. Gilmore averaged 20 ppg last season for the Trojans which plays in the Class A ranks here in the Palmetto State.
Donovan Belton (2018) – Camden HS
Belton 6’2 wing plays at not such a tradition rich basketball school. The Bulldogs player really plays both ends of the floor extremely well and rebounds everything in sight. Belton left-handed has uncanny court vision and makes his teammates happy with his unselfish play on the floor.
These 4 players you generally won’t find much information in the local newspaper unless you travel to watch them play first hand.
