Prep Hoops SC takes a look at 2018 Guards that are under 6’0. The Palmetto State has some talented players in this class and don’t let the size scare you away from recruiting these young men.
Grant Singleton – Lakewood HS (Sumter)
Singleton could help the Gators make a deep run into the playoffs this season. Singleton the reigning Region Player of the Year is back to lead the Gators. Singleton played AAU with Team South Carolina this past summer.
Melvin McKie – South Aiken HS
McKie is a winner from the western part of the state. McKie played AAU with a local Carolina Chaos and seems to be still a unknown commodity on the recruiting trail. McKie averaged 15.1 ppg last season for the 15-8 Thoroughbreds.
Tuzion Brock – Southside (Greenville)
Brock is a tough kid who likes to play the game 94 feet. Brock a great on the ball defender is excelling this season on the football field this season also as wide receiver. Brock played AAU with the South Carolina Raptors. Brock is as tough as they come when it comes to playing the game.
Jermaine Patterson – Bluffton HS
Patterson put up huge numbers last season for the Bobcats. Patterson a multi-sport athlete averaged 27.1 ppg last season.
Robert Swanson – Myrtle Beach HS
Swanson is just a heady and tough kid that wins you games on the floor. Swanson doesn’t pass the eye test but shoots the ball at a high percentage.
Ephraim Butler – Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner)
Butler keeps the ball on the string for the Stags. Butler averaged 11.6 ppg last season for the 18-7 Stags.
Ryan McCray – Ben Lippen
McCray can score the ball from the lead guard spot. McCray creates his own shot and can fill up the stat sheet when given the chance.
Tyreek Walls – Fox Creek HS (North Augusta)
Walls has surfaced over at nearby Fox Creek HS for the Predators this season. Walls played last season at North Augusta HS.
Zam Fredrick – Calhoun County HS (St Matthews)
Fredrick has great blood lines prefers to play off the ball for the Saints. Fredrick 5’9 is a deep range shooter who isn’t afraid to pull-up from 25 feet and beyond.
Tyrek Epps – The King’s Academy (Florence)
Epps should put up solid numbers this season for the SCISA program. Epps played this summer with TMP and played at nearby Lake City HS last season.
Naquan Addison – Spring Valley HS
Addison 5’11 plays with some confidence and swagger on the floor. Addison has the ability to score the ball with a nice mid-range game or attacking the basket.
