Overall Prospect Rankings: #11 – #15
In September we released our rankings for the classes of 2018 and 2019. What if you took those classes along with 2020 and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like!
Today we unveil prospects #11 – #15!
#11 SF Lamontay Daughtery (Duquoin – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Daughtery might be the highest ranked player on this list that few have heard of. The 6’6” small forward from southern Illinois DuQuoin High School is a versatile and athletic wing prospect that is a mismatch problem. He handles it well attacking the basket with fluidity and is becoming more assertive. Ton of upside here!
#12 PG Elliot Sieger (Whitney Young – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Sieger transferred over the Whitney Young for his sophomore year after playing his first season at DePaul Prep. He is a point guard that has a good feel for the game distributing, but can also score. Unorthodox shot mechanics, but he makes them at a good clip from the perimeter.
#13 SG Perry Cowan (DePaul Prep – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: #11
Cowan is an ultra-smooth two guard that is one of the top prospects in the Chicago Catholic League. He handles it on the perimeter being able to get where he needs to get his jump shot off which is most effective in the mid-range. Skilled wing with potential to move higher on this list with a productive junior year.
#14 SF Drew Peterson (Libertyville – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: #19
We have been fans of Peterson since his freshman season. He has grown to 6’7” now and the small forward still has his high skill level along with solid athleticism. Good in transition finishing and is a plus jump shooter with range out to three.
#15 PG Xavier Castaneda (Whitney Young – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: #18
Castaneda has steadily been the #2 point guard in the 2018 class since they came into high school and he remains there. He is a smart lead guard that gets others involved and can score on his own as well with his quickness and speed. Should have a big year as the senior leader for the Dolphins.
