Heritage HS Team Preview
Heritage HS made a deep run in the state playoffs last season, coming up short in the final seconds against a very talented 71st high school team. They bring back a nice amount of talent as well as bringing in one of the top freshman in the state, which automatically makes them a very intriguing group. They finished the season with a 28-2 record last year and will have the chance to do the same or even better this year. They open up the season at Holly Springs, and at home vs Millbrook and Cary, they play a competitive schedule which includes an appearance at the John Wall HS OT tournament in Raleigh.
2018 Forward Jayden Gardner: He’s was pretty highly recruited with a nice amount of D1 offers from programs across the coast. He showed why he’s so highly thought of by dominating inside the paint, he scores on put backs, crashed the offensive boards, and blocked shots at a high rate. He eventually committed to ECU and will be a player that can contribute,
2018 Guard Jaren McAllister: You don’t have to watch him long to see how much potential this young man has, he has outstanding athleticism and a knack for scoring the ball. The VT commit has all the tools to be special, and brings a competitive nature to the team, look for him to have a big time season for Heritage.
Guard Redford Dunton: Dunton has a lot of the tools to be a special player, he already has nice height for a guard player even though he’s only going into his freshman season. During the CP3 Rising Stars camp and especially in the top 40 game, he did a good job of moving without the ball constantly, rebounding and playing within the flow of the game. Can shoot it from deep, put the ball on the floor and is aggressive but always seems as if he’s under control.
