Florida Top 250 Expo Prospect Report: Thierry Moliere (2018)
2018 Jesuit guard Thierry Moliere was one of 53 upperclassmen and 86 total prospects in attendance at the Prep Hoops Florida Top 250 Expo on Saturday, Sept. 30th at DME Academy in Daytona Beach.
I sat down with Moliere to talk about his time at the expo.
Q: What was your experience like in Daytona at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo?
A: It was a great experience, the environment was full of energy. I had a great time playing against kids I’ve never seen before and seeing others that I’ve played against in the past at the showcase last year.
Q: Where did you first hear about it?
A: I first heard about the showcase from last. This year I learned about it via Twitter.
Q: What was the best thing you learned?
A: The ball handling drills done with Aubery DeNard.
Q: What positive in your game grew? What negative in your game did you notice and try to fix?
A: I see the floor really well and I’m able to get my teammates involved and be able to score I will. I’ve been working on my spot up shooting a lot making up to 500 threes a day.
Q: Would you recommend the expo to your peers? How come?
A: Yes it’s a great showcase, where there are coaches evaluating how well you play. It’s fun playing against kids I barely know.
Q: What is your role looking like this season?
A: My role this year is to be a leader. I have to lead by example by making the right play every time down the court.
Moliere has matured twofold just over the last season. This is his team and he’ll lead the charge as the point guard and top scorer. At 6’0″, Moliere has the ability to dash inside for buckets or hit in stride with his strong jumper. Look for him to have fun and be focused in his senior campaign.
