Florida Top 250 Expo Prospect Report: Branndon Patrick (2019)
2019 Northeast forward Branndon Patrick was one of 53 upperclassmen and 86 total prospects in attendance at the Prep Hoops Florida Top 250 Expo on Saturday, Sept. 30th at DME Academy in Daytona Beach.
I caught up with Patrick to talk about his time at the expo.
Q: What was your experience like in Daytona at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo?
A: It was a great experience. I got a chance to see how I match up with other high school players.
Q: Where did you first hear about it?
A: My mom is like my manager and she is one of my trainers so I heard about the exposure camp from her.
Q: What was the best thing you learned?
A: The coaches at the camp were great about teaching us to show our knowledge of the game without overdoing it. I practice hard and I play with strong players every single day. It was good to see that I am more developed than I thought and I feel like that was a very positive part of the camp.
Q: What positive in your game grew? What negative in your game did you notice and try to fix?
A: Definitely, the confidence I was able to play at the same level of some of these great players that were in attendance. Speed and strength is something I continue to work on. I put on 15 lbs of muscle over the summer and I continue to work every day to get faster and more explosive.
Q: Would you recommend the expo to your peers? How come?
A: I was glad that I attended the exposure camp. I like the attention that I received from the coaches. The coaches were approachable and knowledgeable. I gained a lot of confidence and I would recommend the Prep Hoops Exposure Camp to my friends who are serious about taking their game to the next level.
Q: What is your role looking like this season?
A: This year my role will be to rebound, contest shots and be able to produce on offense.
At 6’7″, Patrick was one of the tallest players we had at the event. He has a very polished jump shot and when he locked down on defense he was very solid. Patrick will have to add muscle here in his junior season to match up against some of the top talent down in Miami. He’ll be an emerging player for Northeast after being apart of the varsity team as a sophomore.
