Daivien Williamson Nearing Decision
Playing at Winston-Salem Prep, Daivien Williamson has made a name for himself as a player that is tough, skilled and knows how to win. Williamson is heading into his senior season and will want nothing more than to win a state championship in his last year. Also a big accomplishment that Williamson is working on is finding out which school he will attend for the following four years.
What’s Next
East Tenneesse State has secured an unofficial visit for Williamson this weekend. “I like East Tennessee a lot” Williamson said. “I am planning on making my decision probably next week,” he said. Williamson has visited Drexel, James Madison, Wofford and Georgia Southern already.
Scouting Report
Williamson is a player that knows how to get to the right spots on the floor to score the basketball. He knows how to get by defenders and has the strength to finish with contact. He is a scorer from anywhere on the floor and understands the game. His game will translate well to the next level. One of his best attributes is his ability to create in transition and can find the open man. He is quick with the ball in his hands and is a blur in the open floor.
Analyst’s Take
I think with the style of play that East Tennessee runs, BJ McKie being one of the best players ever out of the Carolinas’ and Head Coach Steve Forbes’ type of recruits, I see Williamson choosing East Tennessee State. It may be tough to get him out of Georgia Southern and the job that Larry Dixon has done with recruiting him though. I think it will come down to either one. I just give the upper hand to ETSU with it being relatively close to home and the type of game that they play.
