North Carolina Team
Wesleyan Christian-Former Maryland Terrapin Kieth Gatlin has had some good luck in the The City of Palms Tournament, winning it all in 2016 with Harry Giles, Brandon Childress and Kwe Parker. This year the Trojans bring in another strong team including Maryland commitment Aaron Wiggins, a long and athletic four-man that can run the floor and finish in transition while producing on the defensive end as well. Wing Jaylen Hoard, one of the top prospects in the nation has committed to Wake Forest and will suit up next season under former number 1 draft pick Danny Manning. Virginia Tech commits Kobe and Keyshaun Langley have transferred in after winning a state title at Southwest Guilford High School. The 2019 Langleys’ are two of the top prospects in that class for North Carolina. Gatlin, beginning his ninth season at Wesleyan Christian, ranks third on the University of Maryland’s all-time assists list with 649 from 1984-88. Wesleyan Christian finished 28-5 last season playing one of the toughest schedules in the country. With only 5 losses on the record last year, Wesleyan lost to Greensboro Day in the NCISAA 3-A state finals last season.
